Standard Workstation
The industry standard Intel® Pentium® 4 2.0 GHz processor powers these computer systems. Supplied in a Mini Tower case, they are
complete with all the standard features including 512MB of on-board memory, a large capacity (60 GB) hard disc drive, IDE CD-ROM
drive, CD Writer/DVD Player Combo Drive, 64MB AGP Graphics Card, 15" 0.28dpi LVGA Monitor and a 10/100 PCI Network Card. A
number of additional options are available including tape back-up and fax/modem facilities. With your choice of Windows 2000
Professional or Windows XP included as an operating system these computers are not only ideal for stand alone systems running the
Roadrunner software, but will also support additional 3rd party software such as MS Office and Payroll software. The inclusion of a
network card enables these systems to be integrated as workstations on larger systems.
LINUX Server
The LINUX system is used as the main server in a small network environment running the Roadrunner software. These high specification
systems can be supplied with various Intel® Pentium® processors, typically including the Intel® Pentium® 4 2.5GHz with 512kB Pipeline
Burst Cache, 256MB high speed memory and high capacity, a SCSI controller supporting fast access SCSI hard disc drives. Because of
both the nature and capacity of data stored, a 12GB/24GB 4mm Internal SCSI Tape Drive is included to provide a high-speed back up of
the Roadrunner data and a 1Kva UPS is also included to protect the system against power loss. To enable other users to access the
LINUX system, it will typically include a 10/100 PCI Network Card and an 8 Port 10/100Base-T Hub and additional hardware can be added
including dumb terminals or our standard computer systems (which would be required if access to 3rd party software is required).
Routers to provide links to other remote depots - via BT's Kilostream or ISDN lines - can also be provided.
IBM RISC 6000 System
The IBM RISC 6000 computer system is a powerful computer system providing multi-user and multi-site facilities
utilising the IBM AIX operating system. The main processor is based on the RISC technology (Reduced Instruction Set
Computing) and provides superior processing speed when compared to Intel® Pentium® processors. The specification of an
IBM RISC 6000 system can be tailored to meet both your immediate requirements and to take into consideration any future
growth. Additional hardware can be added including dumb terminals or our standard computer systems (which would be
required if access to 3rd party software is required). Routers to provide links to other remote depots - via BT's
Kilostream or ISDN lines - can also be provided.
Because of the rapid change in the marketplace, these are just typical examples of the types of system we can offer. For full up-to-date specifications and pricing, please contact us directly. Full details on how to contact us may be found on the Contact Us page.
