Road Tech Computer Systems was formed in 1984 by Derek Beevor and Roy Gascoigne. The authors of Roadrunner, Road Tech established one of the most powerful road transport computer systems in the UK. Derek and Roy's combined knowledge and experience of haulage and Information Technology meant that Roadrunner was soon regarded as the most popular haulage management package in its field, and is still the UK market leader by far to this day.

Road Tech Computers' main headquarters are at Shenley Hall in Hertfordshire. This is where the admin, programming and continued Roadrunner product developments take place. It also runs its own computer hardware department, complete with experienced engineers who service and maintain this equipment both on site and at Shenley Hall. Backed up with a fleet of vehicles, Road Tech do not sub out any of its services to third parties. All of the Software and hardware supplied is maintained by Road Tech alone. Shenley Hall also houses extensive training facilities with fully equipped class and meeting rooms and industry recognised training courses covering all aspects of computer haulage skill. There are more than twenty certificated Roadrunner courses with training staff who teach both at Shenley Hall and around the UK, Ireland and Europe.
